Exhaust Muffler for VIOT and Other Pumps of selected models;
Why this is needed:
Every rotary vane vacuum pump has an intendance to evaporate its own vacuum pump oil! If the pump is used out door air, you may not feel the oil,
but if you are using the vacuum pump in a closed space, the room may feel the "smoky", greasy air after operating the pump for a few hours. Faster the air passing through
the pump, more oil mist is likely to come out of the muffler, higher the vacuum level(lesser the flow),
faster the the oil evaporate, greasier the air may become. For this reason, Some manufactures come up with a big and expensive exhaust muffler to
eliminate the oil from the exhausting air. We supply this muffler so the the garden hose or tubing can be connect to the muffler and get the exhaust air conducted out
of the room. This muffler has oil filters in the muffler.
How it is connected: slide one end of a 3/8" or 1/2" Tubing or a garden hose to the muffler connector and tight it with a clamp. Run the other end to
out door or and exhaust hood. Prefer the hose to be upright at the first few feet, so the condensed oil in the hose will be return to the pump.
Please do not use too small tubing, or get the tubing clogged, any back pressure to the exhaust may affect the performance of the vacuum pump.

It does NOT fit to these pump: VPD6, VPDS12, VPDS6, VPDS3. We are developing a new model of muffler for these models and should be available soon. check with us for the new muffler if you need one.
